Direction to Use: Step 1 - Initial Lightness Selection: Begin by removing the VITA Valueguide 3D-MASTER from the top of the Linearguide. Compare the shade samples in the Valueguide with the natural tooth you are matching. Determine the degree of lightness (brightness) on a scale from 0 to 5. Select the value that best matches the natural tooth shade. (0 being the darkest and 5 the lightest) Step 2 - Detailed Chroma and Hue Selection: Once you have determined the degree of lightness in Step 1, use the corresponding VITA Chroma/Hueguide to make a more detailed choice. Compare the chroma (color intensity) and hue (color tone) of the tooth with the samples in the Chroma/Hueguide. Select the specific chroma and hue combination that matches the natural tooth shade within the determined degree of lightness. Final Shade Determination: The combination of the Valueguide selection from Step 1 and the Chroma/Hueguide selection in Step 2 will provide the final and precise tooth shade for your dental procedure. Customization (Optional): If necessary, you can create intermediate shades by mixing different shade samples from the guide to achieve a more customized match for your patient. Record the Shade: Document the determined tooth shade for reference during the dental procedure.
